With Desmark
Landero a youth volunteer and my photographer, we traveled to Salimama on
sunday afternoon (MArch 1). I needed to take the 2 motorcycles as we have
carried with us with the karaoke and film equipments. (The other companions
composed of 2 tribal pastors and 3 volunteers walk from kihan for 3 hours via
horse path and we met at salimama.) We arrived at the site before dark on good
weather.
After coffee and a talk with the people
and GB Pastor Cristino Palapan, we set up the film equipment in front of
his house and began showing the manny pacquiao fight to
draw the people's attention.Soon the crowd gathered and we began the Jesus Film
after the opening prayer.
After the movie, i preached to the
people gathered and invited them to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and
Savior, then they prayed with me the sinners prayer. We ended the night with
prayer and dismissed the crowd at 9:30pm.
The village was on red alert because of the rebels presence on the hills, so the people needed to be on their homes after dark, and we violated their curfew due to the preaching and the movie. It was good though.

The next day,in the morning, We invited
the GB people for a seminar at the small GB church. A few came and filled the
small meeting place. We were done after 12 noon.
That evening, (the second night) we visited
an Assembly of God church nearby to have another christian film. the people
gathered, yes, because Manny Pacquaio was the first attraction, then, i played
the movie and preached after the movie. The people were so receptive and gave
themselves to the Lord, the christians also made a commitment to be more firm in
their faith. Glory to God.
In the morning of March 3, we began our journey back home, we decided to take
another route to visit other remote places and we found out that the journey
would take us almost the whole day adventure through the difficult, rocky path
and river. One motorcycle had the chain broken and a flat tire. The uphill climb was exhausting and we ran out of
water to hydrate ourselves.
Finally, we arrived at
the plateau and went to a pastor we know to ask if we can cook our lunch. But
gladly, they offered us food. WE relaxed, and eat our lunch at 1pm. After we
prayed with the brethren of the village, we continued our journey down the
mountain. i have to drive the small motorcycle downhill with a flat front tire.
it was a slow and sure journey until i found a place to repair the tube in the
mountain village. i was glad then to continue the journey home and arrived
gensan safely at 6 in the evening.
GLory to
God!
