FIRST TRIBAL YOUTH CAMP WAS INDEED A SUCCESS

I thank all of the people who prayed and contributed for the success of the First Sarangani Highlands tribal Youth Camp. It was indeed a joy for me and the pastors to see the youth gathered in the name of the Lord, worshipping Him and affirming their love to God.

The Camp’s theme, “I follow Jesus” is such a blessing as it gave encouragement to the participants and revival to the youth in the churches.

163 participants came and was blessed. We had a nightly evangelistic and presentation of Who Jesus is. We had a class for those who were not baptized yet and those who just gave their heart to Jesus. We had fun as we divided the group into 10 groups and each group carry the name of the place where Jesus went during His earthly ministry.

The first Sarangani Highlands Adventure challenge offered them enough fun as we explore the place of Kihan with lots of challenges along the way. The participants then reflected that following Jesus is not easy, going through many challenges was quite an ordeal for many but after the game they treasured the experience. The Groups also re-enacted what happened in that place that they represent, the historical place in Jesus’ time.

The highlight of the camp was the Commitment Night, where the Pastors carry their candle that symbolizes Jesus, The Youth who committed to follow Jesus and carry their candle, came to their pastors and lighted their candle. It was such a heart touching sight.

In the morning of the last day we baptized 32 young people who committed their lives to the lord. Glory to God!!!

Once again, God proved to me and the tribal pastors that When we pray in His will, He listens. It was impossible for many to have the camp because of financial consideration but Faith pushed me to carry on the vision and indeed God is Great…. He provided our needs and had the camp held for the first time in this place.

We Thank HIS PLACE WORSHIP CENTER of West Plains, Missouri for making it possible for us. It is my desire that next year a group of youth and volunteers from the U.S.  could come and experience the Adventure here and to minister to the people in the mountain. We also thank all the tribal pastors of SARANGANI HIGHLANDS MINISTERIAL FELLOWSHIP who contributed financially despite of limited resources, to Rocky Selga of Shooter’s Shop Davao and the Vice Governor Jinkee Pacquiao for some sacks of  Rice.

 GOD BLESS US ALL
